March 1, 1964 – Pittsburgh Hornets player-coach Vic Stasiuk (20) prepares his squad to play the Springfield Indians at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh.
The Hornets defeated the Indians, 4-1, and moved their record to 33-26-2.

Stasiuk played 127 games and coached in 144 games for Pittsburgh, earning playoff bids in 1963-64 and 1964-65.  The Hornets would lose in the first round both years.

Eary in his career, Stasiuk played 745 games in the NHL for Chicago, Detroit, Boston and recorded 183 goals and 254 assists (437) and retired as a player at age 37 in 1965-66.
